Find out something new about the FSPA Tap Faculty

Megan White
Tap 1 & 2

1. Why do you love tap?

I started taping when I was 2 years old. My mom said I wanted to tap so bad she begged the local dance studio to take a 2 year old in the 3 year old class. I haven't stopped since. I love how much creativity you're allowed  in tap. Your tap shoes are like a jazz instrument. The possibilities are endless.

2. What do you love about teaching tap?

I always say tap is like Legos. You have to learn all the basic steps to create a wonderful masterpiece. Tap is really just creating different combination of basic steps and changing the tempo or rhythm to create different sounds.

3. Dream role that includes tap?

I love the tap number Abraham, choreographed by Robert Alton. It is Vera Ellen's solo in the movie White Christmas.

Tap 3 & 4

1. Why do you love tap?

I'm only happy when I'm tapping!

2. What do you love about teaching tap?

Seeing students progress throughout the year and enjoying tap!

3. Dream role that includes tap?

I played Erma in "Anything Goes", would have loved to been Peggy Sawyer in "42nd Street"   (I was her understudy!)
I was also in the chorus of "Singing in the Rain" but  would had loved to have played Kathy Selden!
